Pink Flamingos...

Last week Don Featherstone passed away. I'm not sure if you recognize his name...

... but you'll certainly recognize his most famous '1957' creation...

...the pink flamingos that adorn lawns all across America, including our own backyard.

We've had our pink flamingos for 7 or 8 years now.

They were a wonderful gift from a college friend of our daughter. I had admired the flamingos in her parents' backyard and she surprised me with my very own flamingos the next time she visited us!

Each summer they're placed in a new spot in the backyard...

... and they're always such a whimsical and fun sight to behold!

So thank you, Mr. Featherstone. I can't imagine our little backyard without your beautiful Pink Flamingos!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Donna

Our yard is just too big to do into gardens, but I am slowly adding things and maybe someday it will look nice.
We planted a Kwanzan cherry tree in memory of my daughter, so that will look beautiful in the back when it gets larger and it will bloom each year, around her birthday.

I love that you move them around from year to year. I tend to put something somewhere and leave it there forever! Me and my aversion to change, LOL!! So happy to visit with you today. It has been a while. Such a lovely post, as usual. God bless you!

I am happy to know that flamingos that are such a charming part of Americana, had a real "inventor" and he enjoyed his success! My granddaughter has her own tiny veggie garden and I was just thinking of getting her a pair of them!
